Convert and packetize
The transmitter converts incoming power into controlled packets of energy.
A pioneering, field-proven approach to distributing meaningful power over distance through packetized, continuously monitored electricity.
VoltServer developed Digital Electricity®, a system that converts conventional input power into controlled packets of energy. A transmitter sends those packets over Class 4 cabling to a receiver, which converts the energy into the form required by the connected load.
The system tests the circuit as energy is delivered. If it detects an unsafe condition, it stops transmission—limiting the energy available to a fault rather than limiting the useful power delivered to a properly connected load.
VoltServer describes its platform as the first commercially deployed, natively digital electricity-distribution system and positions it across data centers, service-provider networks, smart buildings and campuses, industrial facilities, electrification and transportation.
The transmitter converts incoming power into controlled packets of energy.
The system tests circuit conditions as energy packets are delivered and stops when an unsafe condition is detected.
A receiver converts the packetized energy into usable DC or AC for compatible equipment.
VoltServer has been developing and commercializing Digital Electricity since before Class 4 was formally added to the NEC.
Official materials identify data centers, telecom networks, smart buildings, campuses, industrial sites, electrification and transportation.
Transmitters and backup power can be located centrally while receivers serve equipment closer to the edge.
Application partners can incorporate VoltServer technology into broader systems and endpoint solutions.
Suitability depends on load requirements, cable distance, receiver options, project economics and code approval.
A useful comparison begins with the project—not with a preferred product.
CAG.Works can help an owner or project team understand where Digital Electricity may provide a useful advantage, frame the application, and coordinate early conversations with VoltServer, endpoint manufacturers, engineering partners and installers. Final electrical design, product selection and code compliance remain the responsibility of the appropriate qualified professionals.
